The vibe in this café
was very earthy, contemporary with a massive twist of hippy. You could choose
to sit at tables, or around tables in a garden and even on the floor around a
table if you liked. Sayuri is a plant
based vegan restaurant serving mainly raw and intolerance friendly food.
Out the front there was
a smoothie bike that instantly got my attention. I knew the girls would love
this when they knew what it was. They ordered a Bike Smoothie, which had a
combination of fruit.
They had to take turns jumping on the bike and pedalling
away to blend up their smoothie. After about 3minutes it was ready to go- the
girls shared as it was huuuge.
Gluten Free Waffle $6.90
served with coconut ice-cream and berry drizzle on top. I was worried with the
waffle being gluten-free how well they could pull a flour off that contained no
gluten, but they nailed it. Coconut flour that was light and fluffier then any
gluten waffle I had previously ate. The
coconut icecream was sweet and creamy with the perfect zest combination from
the berry sauce drizzled on top. I also had a chamomile tea, it settled my tummy right down.
Lasagne Mexican – you
actually could not tell that this lasagne was raw.
Tortilla corn lasagna
“pasta”, beets pate (S), fruits salsa, avocado, nut sour-cream, marinated
spinach, raw-mezan, served with mix salad & today’s dressing. We’ve already
looked into making this one at home again as it truly is a guilt-free hearty
meal.
The girls ordered a raw
banana split for breakfast- the first real naughty food they’ve had before
12pm. They also shared their meal as it was massive and never even got around
to finishing it. We even tried to help them, still left overs remained.
We left this café very
satisfied and refreshed, my chamomile tea really DID help to soothe my cramping
stomach.
And if you don’t want to
come to the café you can also get it delivered to your hotel for $1aud delivery
fee if you are within Ubud.
