Wack was certainly another one of our golden discoveries via
Instagram that we absolutely loved. The
reason we stumbled across them via Instagram was actually because of a photo of
their Unicorn milkshake and with two unicorn obsessed little girls we knew we
had to pay a visit.
We headed into Wacko for a late dinner, which is certainly
the theme around Bali. It seems everyone (especially the locals) eat later on
in the evening, for us it was the perfect time to eat, as the sun was gone and
so was the heat (the harshest part of it anyway).
The setting in Wacko is very much a rustic/contemporary with
some wooden tables and chairs as well as a couple of timber booths, which is
what we sat at. When we arrived the
place was packed and we were lucky enough to score the table we did. After sitting down and ordering drinks the
smaller tables around us started also filling up.
Wacko is best known for their burger menu and their “wacky”
combinations that just seem to work. We thought we would test out a burger we
would never usually buy.
As we don’t generally eat much at dinnertime we shared the
Flaming Bali Crunch
Inside the bun there was a big meat patty, tomato, lettuce,
sautéed onions, cheddar cheese, potato crisps (lays), Indonesian chilli sauce
with a side of fries.
When ordering this burger we wondered why on Earth anyone
would think of putting Lays Crisp chips inside a burger. But after taking our first bites we quickly
discovered that the combination of textures in your mouth was incredible. We
vowed that when we got back home to Melbourne and cook a burger we would also
include chips inside the bun.
The meat that was in our patty was super juicy and full of
flavour, one of the best burger patties we’ve tried abroad.
The girls shared some chips and a classic hotdog together as
the girls like eating the same thing and it just makes more sense money wise
for them to go halves in a meal.
Plus they saved their stomachs for the monstrous Unicorn
Milkshake for dessert. Bubble gum shake,
strawberry ice cream, whipped cream, marshmallow ropes, strawberry vanilla
wafers with other candy on top.
This thing was what #foodgoals are made of, the type you see
on your feed in Instagram, wishing you could taste just a little bit of that
magical goodness (no just us?) Well we made it our goal to all give this
milkshake a try (we taste tested while the girls drank and ate the rest). After
taking all our insta pics it was taste test time. The result? It tasted just as
good as it looked, to the point you would have thought that glass went through
a rinse cycle it was that clean. The girls loved it!
If burgers are your thing then we highly recommend dropping
into Wacko to see what its all about and give it a try for yourselves
