PRODUCT REVIEW • Kooshy Kids Travel Pillow

Who would have thought after swearing black and blue we would never do another red-eye flight overnight with kids again, we went and did it anyway.  We decided to live life on the edge a little to save some cash with flights, choosing to fly away to Bali at a ripe 11:30pm (can someone say good ol' RED-EYE).

We had hoped with the help of our newest secret weapon (not so secret anymore) that the girls would just sleep the whole 8hour flight waking up in the morning. As for us well, we would do the best with what we had.

Our newest secret weapon (again, not so secret) came out to play after the seatbelt signs had turned off- the Kooshy Travel pillow (as I am sure you could tell by the title of this post).

They were so easy to inflate; we got the pump that you can purchase with your Kooshy kid- making it extra easy.

FYI- it's sooo much easier to inflate and put the Kooshy at your childs feet, if you don't do it this way haha. Instead pump it up while on the floor in position. -ROOKIE-

On the way to Bali we inflated the girls Kooshy Kids pillows in the middle two seats hoping that we could sneak in a little foot room in with the girls, this worked a treat. Us bigger kids got cramps in our legs and necks waking us up but the girls slept like bears in hibernation.

They woke up twice briefly, once to eat breakfast at 6:30am and the other time to go to the bathroom. This was the best and most peaceful outcome for us parents.

On the way home from Bali we decided to mix things up and put Madi on the isle seat and Hails between us. Just as they had been arguing quite a lot this day and we couldn’t bear to go through any more in the plane ride home.

This method didn’t work as well as the first though, and we found we couldn’t snuggle in with them like we could the other way. But that’s ok, lessons learnt.

Most of the major airline companies allow you to take your travel pillow aboard. But I would suggest contacting the airline if you don't see if above just to make sure.

SIDE NOTE- Kooshy Kids is also a saviour if you’re like us and love long road trips. They easily inflate with the pump onto the car floor and create a spot for the older kids to stretch their little legs out and even fall asleep comfortably after upgrading from their carseats.
