INTRO // Who we are

The Wanderlust Family Diaries

Matt and I, both locals to Melbourne started a off as a wanderlust couple getting caught up in country getaways, camping and just down right exploring. Not much tied us down, and if we didn’t have to be stuck between four walls, we weren’t.

Matt was more of the overseas traveller in his day and threw a bag on his back and went backpacking around the UK but then went to see more of Europe for 3 months.

Erin (me) is more the outdoors, local adventures on the beach kind of girl. Being half kiwi (New Zealand) has seen Erin return to New Zealand on multiple occasions but never really seeing the “tourist” side of things, just the family side.

Then we complicated it a little with adding children into the mix, this is when we realised our travel days might be hindered.  Making sure we were never too far from home our family went on camping trips, road trips to Sydney, South Australia and even took a flight to QLD.
But we never took the plunge to take them on a plane over the oceans and off the shores of Australia.
5 years on and the eldest Miss H is 8, our youngest Miss M is 5 and we have been hit with the Wanderlust Travel bug once again after visiting Bali with the family.
We sat down and dusted off the travel books, put pen to paper and tried to figure out how and where on Earth we were going to go with children that had never travelled out of Australia before.
One of the must’s is that it wasn’t allowed to be a massive flight, as the girls longest flight was to QLD (3hours in the air).

Bali popped up, Erin’s family had visited on multiple occasions and we used the excuse of “Can’t sorry, we have the girls”.
Anyway you know how it goes, we went to Bali fell in love with travelling, knew we were idiots not travelling with them earlier and all that stuff.

So we thought we would share all our adventures local and abroad, as well as all the places we recommend dining at, sipping at, staying at and travelling to of course.
Also, were not going to sugar coat a thing when we mess up or a place we encounter is a flop- you will know about it J Being a blogger myself on my own personal page (3B’s Blog) I am a massive believer in not sugar coating and just staying truthful to my following – same goes here.
